Skinny bitch cocktail

Vodka Skinny Bee

A vodka tonic is about as simple as a long drink gets. That's exactly why the vodka shows up in every sip. Tonic brings a dry fizz and a little bitterness while lime adds a clean sharp edge. The spirit has to hold all of it together. We make ours with honey vodka and it's the version we reach for when we want something light that still tastes like we put some thought into it.

What to use

  • 60ml Beeble Honey Vodka
  • Juice of ¼ lime
  • 150ml tonic water (or to taste)
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge and a sprig of rosemary

How to make it

We fill a tall glass with ice first because plenty of ice keeps everything cold and stops the tonic from going flat too quickly. The honey vodka goes in next along with the juice of a quarter lime. Then we top it up with about 150ml of tonic and give it one gentle stir since stirring too hard knocks out the fizz. Before the garnish goes in we run a wedge of lemon or lime around the rim of the glass so the first sip has a little citrus sting. A lime wedge and a sprig of rosemary finish the glass and the scent of the herb rises with every sip.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Beeble Honey Vodka
  • Juice of ¼ of a lime
  • 150ml tonic water (or to taste)
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge to garnish

Method:

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add the Honey Vodka and lime juice
  3. Top up with tonic water to taste and stir
  4. Garnish with lime and rosemary

Beeble Honey Vodka Tonic Cocktail

~ Beeble Top Tip ~ For an extra finishing touch, run a wedge of lemon or lime around the rim of the glass to truly bring out the flavours and add a citrus sting!

Why the honey makes a difference

Tonic is bitter and lime is sharp so a neutral vodka can leave the drink tasting thin and a bit harsh. The honey in ours adds a soft rounded sweetness that sits between the two and takes the edge off the bitterness without making the glass sugary. That's why we only need a quarter of a lime. It gives enough brightness while the honey does the rest. The rosemary adds an herbal note as well and it pairs really well with honey.
